If our home is large, the use of a professional cleaning company is already a common solution. But we rarely think of elements of the home such as doors. Both the front door and the interior are also exposed to daily pollution. Therefore, we advise you to include in the list of cleaning activities for this season and door cleaning.
Cleaning grease stains and other contaminants
Such stains are easily obtained if we inadvertently touch the door with unwashed hands. This season it's time to get rid of greasy stains on the doors. With the detergents we recommend, you will also remove dust and other contaminants.
Prepare dishwashing detergent, and you can mix products that you have at home - solutions with vinegar or citric acid. Do not resort to solvents such as acetone, or at least check in a less conspicuous place on the door if they do not corrode the paint.
You can dissolve a few teaspoons of vinegar in a liter of warm water. This is the easiest homemade "preparation" for oily spots. And for a stronger mixture with the universal cleaner - vinegar, in addition to a few teaspoons of it, add a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of detergent. Dissolve them in about one liter of warm water, stirring until the soda and detergent are completely dissolved. Grease stains are mostly found on kitchen doors. If you still can't remove the dirt, you should consider new kitchen doors.
Cleaning fingerprints
To clean fingerprints left by hands contaminated with building materials, you can use an alcohol-based glass cleaner. You can use such a detergent for both plastic and wooden interior doors.
If you have recently moved into a new home or have made repairs
Every cleaning after repair is associated with many activities. Taking out the waste, cleaning the splashes of the paint on the windows with a sharp knife or ice scraper for a car are familiar to everyone who has gone through this stage. And for those who now have to clean a new or renovated home, we remind you: the doors also need cleaning.
The entrance doors are fixed with mounting foam. You need to clean the remnants of the foam. This is done easily until the foam is dry. If it is dry, after cutting the excess you can clean with special detergents from stores such as construction hypermarkets or with a solvent such as acetone.
If you clean plastic or wooden interior doors, do not use abrasives that will damage their surface. It is enough to wipe them with a soft damp cloth. The soap solution is also suitable for basic door cleaning. Grate a little soap in warm water and you will get a great detergent.
For wooden doors we also recommend water with a little alcohol. But if the contamination is strong, add more alcohol. You can prepare the light solution with 2 teaspoons of alcohol in a liter of water, and for a more concentrated solution the proportion should be 2 teaspoons per glass of water.
